Williams Mullen Attorney Stephen G. Test Named Chair of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra

The Virginia Symphony is pleased to announce new officers for the fiscal year which began July 1. New officers include Stephen Test as Chair.
Stephen Test joined the symphony board in 2009, was named Vice Chair in the 2013-14 season. A trial attorney in Virginia since 1979, Test focuses his practice on construction and business litigation in state and federal courts in jury and non-jury cases as well as administrative hearings, arbitrations, mediations and appeals. Test has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America as a top construction law attorney and was named the Best Lawyers’ 2011 and 2012 Norfolk Construction Lawyer of the Year and Best Lawyers’ 2013 Norfolk Litigation - Real Estate "Lawyer of the Year." In addition to being recognized as one of the “Legal Elite” by Virginia Business magazine, he has also been named a “Super Lawyer” for Business Litigation by Virginia Super Lawyers magazine. In 2012, Virginia Super Lawyers magazine also named him a "Top 100 Lawyer in Virginia."
Test has served on the board of the Virginia Stage Company and for ten years on the Board of Museum of Contemporary Art in Virginia Beach – two as Chair. In addition to the Virginia Symphony Orchestra, Test currently serves on the Board of the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival.

Founded in 1920, it is ranked in the top ten percent of professional orchestras nationwide and serves the entire Southeastern Virginia region with Classics, Pops and Family concert series in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Newport News and Williamsburg as well as performances in outlying Virginia and North Carolina communities, reaching more than 160,000 concert-goers every year. Additionally, the orchestra annually reaches 45,000 children, students and lifelong learners with its education and community programs. The Virginia Symphony has performed at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center and is the cornerstone of the performing arts in Southeastern Virginia.
