Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that the firm’s Estate Planning: Private Client & Fiduciary Services Practice received a “Band 2” rating in the 2019 Chambers High Net Worth Guide for Private Wealth Law.

Farhad Aghdami was rated a “Band 1” attorney, the highest rating available, and Dan Durst was named an “Up and Coming” lawyer.

The estate planning practice, which includes 10 attorneys throughout Virginia, was recognized by sources in the guide as a “terrific firm” with a “great reputation. Sources told Chambers the team is “intelligent, creative” and “proactive.” One source said the firm “…possesses a great team approach and the individuals work well together to take advantage of collective knowledge and experience.”

The guide also reports praise for the team’s client service and responsiveness. “They approach complex estate planning with the client values in mind," one source said. Another said, "I’ve been impressed with the responsiveness of the firm."

Farhad has more than 20 years of experience assisting clients with wealth transfer tax planning, business succession planning, income tax planning for individuals and businesses and fiduciary litigation. He is the Virginia State Chair of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). One source said, “Farhad and his team are amazing. He is one smart cookie.”

Dan has more than 10 years of experience and advises clients on a wide range of estate planning, trust and estate administration, business succession and tax matters. He was named a Fellow of the ACTEC in April 2019. He regularly assists high net worth individuals, business owners and professionals with their estate planning needs, including the preparation of wills and trusts such as revocable trusts, insurance trusts, dynasty trusts, intentionally defective grantor trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, qualified personal residence trusts and charitable lead and remainder trusts.

One source told Chambers that Dan “has developed a very strong reputation based upon his knowledge and experience in the areas of estate and gift taxes.” The source also praised Dan’s “experience, knowledge, professionalism and responsiveness.”
