Megan Nedostup is a senior land use planner who works closely with the firm’s Land Use Practice, guiding clients through all stages of the planning, zoning, and development process. She brings a strategic, detail‑oriented approach to complex land use matters, supporting projects from early due diligence through entitlement approvals and implementation.

Megan’s work includes overall project management, zoning and comprehensive plan analysis, preparation and coordination of complex development and site plan applications, and creation of compelling written materials and presentations. She has extensive experience managing rezoning, special use permits, and site plan approvals for complex projects, coordinating agency submissions, review timelines, and interdisciplinary project teams. She frequently facilitates community meetings and public outreach efforts, collaborates closely with local planning and zoning staff, and works hand‑in‑hand with clients, project managers, consultants, engineers, architects, attorneys, and other project team members to help clients navigate regulatory requirements, resolve challenges, and maintain project schedules.

With extensive experience across the commercial real estate spectrum, Megan has worked on a wide range of projects including mixed‑use developments, residential communities, research parks, affordable and workforce housing, educational facilities, retail centers, solar and energy storage facilities, data centers, and other commercial uses. She also has experience supporting economic development projects and negotiating and administering related performance agreements.

Prior to joining Williams Mullen, Megan spent fifteen years with Albemarle County, serving in roles ranging from Principal Planner to Development Project Manager. This public‑sector experience provides her with an in‑depth understanding of local government ordinances, comprehensive plans, and development review processes, as well as long‑standing professional relationships with elected officials, planning staff, and community stakeholders throughout Virginia.

Megan is a seasoned AICP‑certified planner recognized for her practical problem‑solving skills, collaborative style, and ability to balance policy objectives with real‑world development considerations. She is particularly valued for translating complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable guidance for clients.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from The Ohio State University and is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
