Meredith M. Haynes

Meredith Haynes advocates on behalf of businesses and individuals in state and federal courts, arbitration, and pre-suit investigations and disputes. Her subject matter experience includes business tort, construction, health care, land use, and shareholder disputes, as well as the defense of consumer protection and class action claims. Meredith has handled all stages and aspects of litigation, including motions practice, discovery, and trial, and appeals before the Supreme Court of Virginia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Meredith is an active leader in the profession and regularly presents and contributes to bar conferences and continuing legal education courses. She is a past-chair of the Judiciary Committee of the Richmond Bar Association and a Virginia State Bar district disciplinary committee and has earned consistent recognition by leading industry publications. She was included in Virginia Super Lawyers Rising Stars (2014–2015, 2017–2020), Virginia Super Lawyers (2025), and Virginia Business magazine’s “Legal Elite” (2017, 2020–2021, 2024).

In the summer of 2023, Meredith returned to the firm after serving as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge Elizabeth W. Hanes in the Eastern District of Virginia. In 2024, she was appointed a substitute judge by Chief Judge Jacqueline McClenney of the Circuit Court of the City of Richmond.

Meredith received a Bachelor of Arts degree, with distinction, from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctor degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where she was an R.H. Powell Honor Scholar.
