Sophie C. Mohrmann
Sophie Curdts Mohrmann is the director of attorney development and engagement in Williams Mullen’s talent management department. She has 15 years of experience helping attorneys and practice groups enhance their legal practices and capabilities. Sophie directs the firm’s professional development program for attorneys and provides administrative leadership for firm-wide Engagement Committee efforts.
Sophie helps attorneys develop specific skills that drive their practice at each stage of their career. She strategizes with attorneys regarding their careers and their full firm lifecycles, including firm life integration, development against the firm’s core competencies, evaluations, and the path to partnership. Sophie works to develop comprehensive firm programming by attorney experience level and works with external vendors to provide specialty topics, such as deposition & trial skills, public speaking and presenting, legal writing skills and effective time management.
She also works with attorneys to provide internal programs, such as Learn the Practice, which features section chairs and other partners highlighting cross-section knowledge and collaborative client service opportunities.
In addition, Sophie actively collaborates with firm leadership and committee chairs to develop and enact the firm’s strategy around engagement and inclusion. She directs strategic planning, programming and other opportunities for the firm’s Engagement Committee and its affiliated networks, including the Women’s Network, Attorneys of Color Network, LGBTQ+ Network and Veterans Network.
Before joining Williams Mullen, Sophie spent more than six years with Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox in Washington D.C. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia.
