Williams Mullen Names Seven Newly Elected Partners
Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that the following seven attorneys have been elected partner, effective Feb. 1: Matthew T. Anderson, Anna T. Birkenheier, Lauren E. Fussell, Randal R. Greene, Jr., John G. Tamasitis, Patrick R. Tomlinson and Christopher T.G. Trusk.
In Columbia:
John G. Tamasitis is a trial lawyer who has represented clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters. These matters include products liability lawsuits, mass torts, white collar criminal defense, business contract disputes, zoning and regulatory matters that involve constitutional claims, and environmental litigation. He is a former federal law enforcement agent and Air Force officer who has extensive experience guiding corporate clients in a variety of matters involving commercial contracts, construction defects, corporate insolvency, and both state and federal constitutional matters. Tamasitis earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, magna cum laude, and his Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he was the class president and a cadet squadron commander.
In Raleigh:
Lauren E. Fussell is a litigation attorney focusing on helping clients navigate complex legal issues that are often a direct threat to their ongoing operations or, in some cases, their liberty. In both her civil and criminal work, Fussell seeks early and efficient resolutions where possible. She has significant trial experience in resolving matters where an agreement cannot be reached between the prosecutor, regulator, or opposing counsel. Fussell earned her Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from Campbell University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina.
Christopher T.G. Trusk navigates a wide range of complex transactions and legal matters in the commercial real estate sector with a focus on delivering strategic solutions and client service. He represents clients in a wide range of commercial real estate transactions and legal matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, development, leasing and financing. Trusk offers strategic guidance to assist developers, investors, landlords, and businesses with real estate needs to achieve their objectives. He earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Clemson University.
In Richmond:
Matthew T. Anderson is an experienced corporate employment attorney, with a particular focus on defending businesses in employment litigation matters. In addition, Anderson represents companies and insurers in employee benefits claims litigation under ERISA. He also advises clients on compliance with employment laws and regulations such as Title VII, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), as well as providing general employment guidance and counseling to businesses on human resources best practices. Anderson earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Richmond School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington and Lee University.
Anna T. Birkenheier represents clients in complex commercial litigation matters at the state and federal levels, including regulatory proceedings, investigations, and administrative matters. She also assists those in the construction industry, such as owners, contractors and subcontractors, in a variety of construction litigation matters. Birkenheier counsels clients throughout several industries on compliance and litigation-avoidance strategies, prepares them for the litigation process and navigates legal issues alongside clients to help find solutions and achieve results. Birkenheier earned her Juris Doctor degree from the College of William & Mary School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University.
Randal R. Greene, Jr. focuses his practice on transactional matters, advising clients on a broad range of corporate, finance, and complex real estate transactions. He regularly assists private companies, founders, private equity sponsors, and other businesses with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, private equity transactions, and other corporate transactions. His experience spans a variety of industries, including senior housing, behavioral health, health care, consumer services, and technology. Greene earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wofford College.
In Virginia Beach:
Patrick R. Tomlinson focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions and other complex business transactions, including leveraged buyouts, carve-out transactions, joint ventures, controlling and minority investments and other strategic transactions, as well as general corporate matters. He has significant experience representing private equity firms, as well as public and private companies in domestic and cross-border transactions across a broad range of industries. Tomlinson earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia.
