09.22.2020 Jennifer Ligon Named to 2020 Class of ‘Up & Coming Lawyers’ by Virginia Lawyers Weekly
Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that Jennifer Ligon has been named to the 2020 class of "Up & Coming Lawyers" by Virginia Lawyers Weekly. The awards program, which recognizes top attorneys within their first ten years of practice, named 19 people to the 2020 class. The honorees will be celebrated with a virtual awards ceremony on Oct. 22.
Jennifer joined Williams Mullen’s Health Care Practice in 2016 after practicing health care law at another law firm in Richmond. Jennifer started her legal career as an associate in the executive compensation and employee benefits group at a law firm in New York City. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was on the editorial board of the Virginia Law Review and served as a Dillard Fellow.
Jennifer focuses her practice on transactional and regulatory matters, including Certificate of Public Need (COPN) matters, Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute compliance, state licensure compliance and Medicare reimbursement matters, for hospitals, physician groups and long-term care providers. She also routinely counsels clients on general business and employment-related matters.
Jennifer was included among the “Ones to Watch” by Best Lawyers® (2021). She has been listed in Virginia Super Lawyers Rising Stars magazine (2016-present) and named among Virginia's "Legal Elite" by Virginia Business magazine (2016, 2018-present). She is an active member of the Virginia Bar Association (VBA), serving as the chair of the VBA's Young Lawyers Division from 2019-2020. She previously served the VBA's Young Lawyers Division as chair-elect (2018-2019) and secretary-treasurer (2017-2018).
