Williams Mullen Adds Environmental Attorney Benjamin Mowczan in Columbia

Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that Benjamin Mowczan has joined the firm as an associate in the firm’s Environment & Natural Resources Practice. He will work in the firm’s Columbia office. Mr. Mowczan advises clients across a wide range of industries — including industrial, manufacturing and real estate — on environmental, health and safety regulatory matters, including permitting, compliance, reporting obligations, spills and violations of permit requirements.

He joins Williams Mullen’s nationally recognized environmental team, which includes five attorneys ranked by Chambers USA, including Ethan Ware and Jessie King in South Carolina. The practice received a Band 2 ranking in both South Carolina and Virginia from Chambers USA.

“We’re excited to add Ben to our team in South Carolina,” Environment & Natural Resources Practice Chair Channing Martin said. “He joins a talented group of environmental attorneys in Columbia and will help us better assist our clients with a broad array of environmental matters.”

Prior to joining Williams Mullen, Benjamin served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Justice Kaye G. Hearn at the South Carolina Supreme Court. He earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina, where he served on the university’s editorial board for the ABA Real Property Trust and Estate Law Journal as a senior articles editor. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in environmental studies from Washington and Lee University.
