Darrell J. Getman

Darrell Getman represents individuals and organizations facing complex civil litigation, including matters involving constitutional law and business torts. He guides clients through every stage of the litigation process in both state and federal courts—from pre-suit investigations and drafting pleadings, to conducting depositions, negotiating settlements, and advocating in court and in alternative dispute resolution settings.

Following law school, Darrell served as a law clerk to the Honorable David J. Novak of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. After serving as a federal law clerk, Darrell practiced for several years litigating complex cases in both state and federal court. Darrell has also represented clients in the Court of Appeals of Virginia, where he has both briefed appeals and has also conducted oral argument on behalf of clients. Darrell provides his clients with a wide breadth of perspectives and options when evaluating a legal problem.

Darrell earned his Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from William & Mary Law School, where he served on the leadership of the National Trial Team and also served on the William & Mary Business Law Review. He is a recipient of the Order of Barristers and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, in Economics and Political Science from SUNY Geneseo.
