Joseph L. Stiles
Joe advises clients on business and corporate matters, including corporate formation and structuring, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, corporate governance and commercial transactions. He counsels businesses through all stages of complex transactions, from structuring and negotiation to closing.
Joe represents clients across a range of industries, advising owners and operators in the senior housing industry on complex transactions and strategic business matters. He also has a strong background in commercial real estate, including development, construction, leasing, financing and other real estate matters for businesses ranging from privately held companies to multinational organizations.
He is a member of the John Marshall American Inn of Court, the Virginia Bar Association’s Real Property, Business Law and Corporate Counsel Sections, the Richmond Bar Association’s Real Estate and Business Law Sections, and the North Carolina Bar Association. He has also held leadership roles with the Richmond Bar Association’s Real Estate Section Executive Committee. Joe also serves on the board of directors for Home Organization Management Essentials, Inc. (HOME) and has been involved with organizations focused on commercial real estate, historic preservation and community development, including the Historic Richmond Foundation, the Greater Richmond Association for Commercial Real Estate (GRACRE), the Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate (HRACRE), and the Norfolk Historical Society.
He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Richmond School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Hampden-Sydney College.
