Lori Schweller assists developers, private landowners, businesses and owners associations with a variety of real estate projects. Lori's experience spans a number of industries, such as telecommunications, commercial and residential development, golf courses, wineries and more, and includes commercial acquisitions, sales, financing and leasing; land use and zoning; and common interest communities. She serves as leasing and zoning counsel for a major wireless communications provider, and she routinely works with local officials on wireless zoning issues and appears before local boards throughout Virginia to obtain zoning and use permits.

She serves as leasing and zoning counsel for a major wireless communications provider, and she routinely works with local officials on wireless zoning issues and appears before local boards throughout Virginia to obtain zoning and use permits.

Lori has helped to develop residential, commercial and mixed-use condominiums, both new and conversion projects, and guides declarants through the condominium registration process, including preparing the public offering statements and exhibits for submission to the Common Interest Community Board.

She assists landowners in obtaining conservation easements eligible for tax credits under the Virginia Land Preservation Act and revalidating property eligible for local land use taxation.

Lori has assisted a prominent national golf course owner and operator to acquire golf courses across the country as well as to enter into ground leases and management agreements. She provides counsel through all stages of the acquisition and financing process.

Lori has worked on several noteworthy projects, including local representation of an international land developer acquiring an Albemarle County vineyard and assisting the owners association of a large planned development to purchase its golf course and club amenity.

She is listed in The Best Lawyers in America© for Real Estate Law (2015-present). Lori also serves as secretary of the board of directors of the Virginia State Bar’s Real Property Section, and she co-chairs its Land Use & Environmental Committee.

Lori earned her Juris Doctor degree and a Master of Arts degree in English from the University of Virginia. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
