White Collar and Government Contracts Litigator Drew Austria Joins Williams Mullen as Partner in Tysons
Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that R. Andrew “Drew” Austria has joined the firm as a partner in its Litigation Section in the Tysons office.
Austria represents corporations, government contractors, executives, professionals and high-net-worth individuals and their families, in high-stakes matters involving the DOJ, SEC, IRS, CFIUS, federal Inspectors General and Congress. His practice focuses on white collar defense, internal investigations, national security and export-control enforcement and government contracts compliance.
He counsels clients across industries, including aerospace and defense, financial services, higher education, pharmaceuticals, energy and emerging technology. He manages multi-jurisdictional matters involving federal and state enforcement agencies and advises clients on voluntary disclosures and parallel proceedings.
A former U.S. Navy Judge Advocate (JAG), Austria brings nearly a decade of trial and appellate experience to his practice. While on active duty, he served as a prosecutor, trial and appellate defense counsel and legal advisor to senior flag officers.
“We are excited to welcome Drew to our Tysons office,” said Turner Broughton, chair of Williams Mullen’s Litigation Section. “As a seasoned litigator with deep military, government and corporate investigative experience, he strengthens our ability to serve clients facing complex challenges.”
Prior to joining Williams Mullen, Austria was part of McGuireWoods' nationally recognized Government Investigations and White-Collar Department. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Vanderbilt University Law School and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia.
