Chuck James Analyzes Recommendation to Retry Former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell

On Friday, Sept. 2, the Washington Post reported the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia has recommended that the Justice Department retry former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell on corruption charges. Chuck James analyzed the decision in a story in the Richmond Times-Dispatch, saying, "If there is any legal basis to support a retrial under the Supreme Court’s ruling and its invitation to pursue a case on a narrowed reading of the Honest Services Act, we should not be surprised if they accept."
