Williams Mullen Announces Election of Six New Partners

Williams Mullen is pleased to announce the election of six new partners, effective Feb. 1: Alexander M. Gormley, Meredith M. Haynes, Sean D. Hicks, Richard D. Palmieri, Caitlin M. Poe and Trevor D. Wind. Two of the new partners are based in the firm’s Raleigh office, and four in Richmond.
 
In Raleigh:
 
Zan Gormley focuses his practice on commercial litigation, ERISA, and professional liability, specifically contract disputes, business “divorces,” shareholder disputes, and defending claims against directors and officers. He earned his Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania
 
Caitlin Poe represents defendants in criminal and civil cases involving securities regulation, intellectual property, consumer protection, environmental compliance, health care fraud and financial fraud. She also represents business entities and individuals in connection with government and internal investigations and is skilled in managing complex civil litigation matters. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia and her Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Georgia.
 
In Richmond:
 
Meredith Haynes focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, business torts, employment, and the defense of claims brought under various consumer protection statutes. She has significant courtroom experience and has handled all aspects of litigation, including arguing dispositive motions, taking and defending depositions, motions practice, expert discovery, and trial practice. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from W&L University and her Bachelor of Arts degree, with distinction, from the University of Virginia.
 
Sean Hicks assists clients with a wide array of commercial real estate transactions, including multifamily developments, educational facilities, hotels, telecommunications transactions, medical buildings, office buildings and industrial spaces, among others. He earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia.
 
Rick Palmieri represents public and private companies as well as strategic, private equity buyers and sellers in a variety of business transactions, including corporate formation and mergers and acquisitions. He received his Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law, and his Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees from North Carolina State University.
 

Trevor Wind focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and general business and corporate matters, including entity formations, fund formations, joint venture and complex contract negotiations. Trevor earned his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, and his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Richmond. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia.
