Kaitlin advises public and private companies on general corporate matters, including entity formation, corporate governance and securities matters as well as mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.

She has significant experience representing financial institutions, both public and private, including community banks, bank holding companies, savings institutions, investment banks and broker-dealers on a variety of securities and corporate governance matters. These have included the drafting of annual filings, 10-Ks, 8-Ks, Form S-8s and proxy statements, and conducting general compliance review and analysis.

Kaitlin also has experience advising companies on mergers, acquisitions and sales as well as entity formation. Kaitlin manages disclosure schedules, conducts due diligence, drafts agreements and oversees all elements related to closings. She works directly with clients, helping to translate legalese into understandable business terms.

Kaitlin earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was on the editorial board for the Virginia Journal of Social Policy and the Law. During law school, Kaitlin was the co-director of the National Lawyers Guild and was also a member of Virginia Law Women. She received two Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Women and Gender Studies from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she won the Sally B. Young Critical Writing Award.

Kaitlin currently serves as a member of the Young Women’s Leadership Alliance (YWLA) of YWCA Richmond.
