Gib is a member of the Maine and North Carolina state bars and the American and North Carolina Bar associations. He has been named among Business North Carolina's “Legal Elite” for Construction Law (2013-present), and he is listed in The Best Lawyers in America© (2007-present) in eight categories: Commercial Litigation, Construction Law, Land Use and Zoning Law, Litigation - Banking and Finance, Litigation - Construction, Litigation - Real Estate, Railroad Law and Real Estate Law. He presents seminars on construction lien law, real property litigation and railroad issues, and he authors articles for publication on these and other legal topics. Martindale-Hubbell has rated him an AV attorney, its highest rating available.

Gib is Williams Mullen’s designated member to the American Property Tax Counsel (APTC).

He is a former general counsel to the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. He has also served on the boards of directors and executive committees of numerous civic organizations.

Before joining the firm, he served for two years as a law clerk to the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. Before law school, Gib was a licensed real estate broker with experience in construction, development, sales, finance and general business matters.

Gib earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Southern Maine and a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the Wake Forest University School of Law.
