Hannah Gourdie represents clients in complex commercial litigation and appellate matters. Her practice includes various substantive areas, including class action defense, contract disputes, business torts, and construction litigation.

Before joining Williams Mullen, Hannah served as a law clerk to The Honorable Henry F. Floyd of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and to The Honorable David J. Novak in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Hannah’s trial-level and appellate clerkship experiences provide her with unique knowledge and insight concerning litigation in the federal courts.

Hannah earned her Juris Doctor degree, summa cum laude, from William & Mary Law School, where she graduated Order of the Coif, was a McGlothlin Scholar, served as a notes editor of the William & Mary Law Review, and was a member of both the law school’s Moot Court Team and Appellate and Supreme Court Clinic. While in law school, Hannah also interned for the Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District of Virginia and externed for the Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia.

Hannah earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the College of William & Mary. At graduation, Hannah was awarded the prestigious James Frederic Carr Memorial Cup, which is given to one graduating senior for character, scholarship, and leadership.
