Renewable Energy Webinar Series: Environmental Considerations When Siting and Permitting Renewable Energy Projects

Wednesday, May 03, 2023
11:00 AM - 11:30 AM EDT
Virtual

Siting and permitting renewable energy projects in Virginia have become increasingly challenging as federal and state environmental laws, regulations and guidance have evolved in recent years. In particular, HB 206 implementation, Virginia Department of Environmental Quality’s (VDEQ) stormwater management requirements, and protected species rules are affecting the siting and permitting of projects.

Join us on Wednesday, May 3, from 11:00 – 11:30 AM (ET) for an informative webinar where we will discuss several important environmental considerations when siting or permitting solar and other renewable energy projects in Virginia, including updates on HB 206 implementation and VDEQ stormwater management requirements.

The webinar will be hosted by Brad Nowak, partner and co-chair of the Renewable Energy Practice Group, where he will be joined by Speaker Pollard, partner with the Environment & Natural Resources Practice Group.

What you will learn about:

  • Status of HB 206 Implementation
  • VDEQ’s Construction Stormwater Permit Program Guidance
  • Stormwater Management and Conveyance Easements
  • Protected Species Guidance (Federal and State)
  • Regulated Wetlands
  • Environmental Justice (Federal and State)
