Williams Mullen Welcomes Corporate Partner Phillip B. Kennedy

Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that experienced business attorney Phillip B. Kennedy has re-joined Williams Mullen as a Partner in the Business and Corporate section. He will be working out of the Raleigh office.

Mr. Kennedy’s practice is focused on general corporate matters, commercial transactions, corporate finance, public and private equity, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, public disclosure compliance and international law. Prior to joining Williams Mullen, Mr. Kennedy served as Assistant General Counsel for a global manufacturer and supplier of products used in the pulp and paper industry. In that role, he advised on corporate governance, NYSE compliance and public company reporting requirements and handled external litigation management. He also worked hand-in-hand with management on domestic and international commercial matters to help drive business goals and to expand the company’s reach into emerging markets.

“Phillip is a welcome addition to our growing Corporate practice in North Carolina,” said David Paulson, Williams Mullen’s North Carolina Managing Partner. “He has the client-first perspective that we look for in our attorneys, and his background as in-house counsel at a global company will be valuable. We know Phillip well and know that he will be able to deliver a high level of service to our clients.”

Mr. Kennedy received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina Law School, where he served as executive editor for the Journal of the University of North Carolina School of Law Banking Institute. He received his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
